Status: Single ~ Heart: Taken

Every girl dreams of the day that she gets to walk into a room and show off a glittering ring. Not just any ring, but a diamond ring. Amidst the oohs and ahhs, there is a feeling of change, because this is not just another a girl wearing a ring… this ring says something to the world about this girl. She has been loved, chosen, set apart, taken. She is no longer available to all other men. She is reserved for the love and companionship of one man for the rest of her life.

Every last one of us wants to find that one man who will choose us and set us apart from all other women to be completely his. For some of us it has happened, for others of us, it has not. Either way, I’m going to tell you that, man or no man, you have been set apart- Chosen by God- put on reserve for his love and the love he has planned for you.

But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1

The LORD has appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3

{I know you are thinking, “yeah, yeah, this is just something single girls tell themselves so they don’t feel so bad about being alone.}

Girls, if God has saved you, He has chosen you and set you apart. You are his treasure, and he will always take care of you no matter what. WHY are you so worried about your love life when the God of the universe has promised to meet all your needs? He has promised to give good gifts to his children. He has promised to bless those that wait on Him. He has promised to always go above and beyond what we can imagine when we do things his way. ALWAYS.

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isaiah 64:4

How could we think our God would do anything less?

Stop listening to your friends, stop listening to the world, stop listening to YOURSELF! And start listening to the promises of our great God. He absolutely loves you so very much and He knows exactly everything that you need today and tomorrow and has promised to give it to you.

My God doesn’t break promises.

Let Him be all that you need. Fall so in love with Jesus Christ that you proclaim with a happy heart that He is all you really need. You were created for him, and there is nothing in this life that you are required to accomplish other than what He Himself lays before you. He completes you.

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

God is your other half.

I can not tell you the freedom came when I realized that God is my other half…. and not just until someone better comes along. It is not about getting what we want out of God, It is about being completely His. You were created to bring Him pleasure with your fellowship, with your singing, with your beauty, with your praise, with your love. So many of us are searching for that person here on earth. We are waiting for a somebody to come along and fill the void. We look for a completer piece to an emptiness in our hearts that was meant for God alone to fill, and until we discover this, we will not be whole, relationship or not.

He is the One for you. He is our true love, our fulfillment, and our joy.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. 1 John 3:1a

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. Colossians 2:10

I beg of you to realize that YOU are worth the wait. You are worth waiting on God to place a man in your life who will love you like Jesus does. He won’t be perfect that’s for sure, but neither are you. He will love God though, and He will strive to be all that God wants Him to be as a man of God. He will recognize his flaws and strive to be better everyday. He will challenge you to grow as an individual and as a godly example of a marriage that is a delight to the eyes of our Lord. Oh girls, don’t settle for some man who doesn’t know the first thing about putting God first. Don’t settle for some selfish guy who is “christian” in name only. I know they are few and far between, but open your eyes and look for the men who will be true. True to God and true to you. God has set them apart for us. It is our job to wait for them, look for them, and see them when they come along. They are looking for us…. let us be striving to be the women that God wants us to be so that we can be virtuous wives to be proud of.

I am in love with a boy I’ve never met. And although I don’t know every quirk about his personality or even what he looks like, I do know what his heart looks like. Its beautiful, loving, giving, and pure. He is so tall that when he is on his knees, he reaches all the way to heaven. He is big enough to be gentle and great enough to be thoughtful. His shoulders are broad enough to bear the burden of a family. His lips are strong enough to smile and firm enough to say “no.” His love is so deep that it takes its stand in Christ and so wide that it takes the whole lost world in. This boy, although he is not perfect, strives to love selflessly and unconditionally. He inspires others, and he inspires me to be better every day, not so that I can earn his love, but so that when we meet… I will be the girl that he is already in love with. I know there is no perfect person, but I believe in a God who is able to do abundantly above all that we ask or think, and I’m in love with HIM too. He LOVES to give good gifts to His children and blesses those who wait for Him, and I will not settle for someone whose heart is not fully in God’s hands, or does not strive to be like Jesus every day. So, until we meet, I am in love with Jesus and my heart belongs to HIM ….. and this boy I’ve never met.

  1. WONDERFUL post!!!! =)
SO so so so so many girls need to read this and take heed!!! Christ a lone is sooo full-filling and until we can realize how BEAUTIFUL our relationship with him alone is we will ALWAYS be trying to fill a void. Thank you for this!!! ❤ xo

  2. This is something every girl needs to read! Thank you for sharing!! It is something I definitely needed to see in words and I loved it 🙂

  3. I am a Chinese girl and I really want to hear the information about God.I am a Christian and so do my families. And in my life Jesus had helped me a lot ,And I am going to tell others about God around the world

  4. I love how you use everything you are to His glory. It’s really important that single ladies speak to single ladies. In some cases it’s even a little bit awkward when married people preach to singles because their situation in life is so diffrent. Sometimes people think that there is something wrong with those who are still singles but I think in many cases that is just the opposite. God has something special for those who are not too hurry to marry their first crush ;). I’m also single and almost 30 and I think God has been always faithful to me. Maybe I’ll get married some day or maybe even not and that is also perfectly fine for me. All the single ladies – keep your head up and trust God. He has good plans for you.

  5. I am praying for my future grandsons in-laws, and granddaughter in-laws. I am praying for godly connections. Thank you for this post.

  7. All I really have to say is thank you to God for blessing us with you, where He demonstrates the uniqueness in the gifts that He blesses us with quite perfectly in you. You are a blessing and I will pray that more and more people start reading this blog. You have a wonderful heart that is very evident that it is after the very heart of God. Always keep at it and never lose faith. No matter what.

  8. Your post brought me to tears. I stand firm in God’s word because He NEVER breaks His promises to His children. I am still trying to find myself in Him and through Him, I know I can do anything. I put all my faith and trust in His perfect timing! I believe that He has already set apart for His love and someone who is worthy and who loves Jesus more than anything ❤ I wait on my Lord.

  9. This is such an encouraging post! Being a single woman myself, I have often heard negative comments. But I realize that that regardless of the negative words, I now know God loves me!

  10. Every now and then, I find my way back to this post to remind me that God is still good and He is faithful. This is not the first time I’ve come across a post so encouraging…as a matter of fact, I was only 18 and in college then, when I discovered this gem. I know its far and between, but I know that who God has for me is out there, waiting for me, and I can’t wait when that time comes 🙂

  11. Every now and then, I find my way back to this same post and I can’t believe it’s been a couple of years since the last time I discovered it. I was only 18 then and fresh out of high school…embarking on a new journey of discovery and learning new things about myself that I never knew before. I have no doubts about the future because I serve a Great God who will give me someone wonderfully amazing! The man that God has for me is out there, waiting for me…I am glad to know this true fact and I will wait on the Lord. 🙂
