It's my birthday!

Ok so, It’s not my birthday, but thefulltimegirl.com is one year old today. :]

I can not say enough how thankful and blessed I feel to have this opportunity to touch so many lives with my writing and with God’s truth. When I first started this blog, I had no idea that it could become what it has become today, but I knew I wanted to make a difference. So, I want to encourage you to do the same.

You know, I’m not perfect. I have had many ups and downs in my life. But, good times and bad, God has been there through them all. Even when I couldn’t see Him working in my life, He really has worked everything out for good. Looking back, I can’t imagine where I would be if it were not for the grace, strength, and mercy of God on my life. Everything I am and have I owe to Jesus Christ. I am nothing without Him.

I have learned that when you really decide that you want God– more of Him and all of Him– He will wreck your life completely. He will shatter it to pieces. And when there’s nothing left and you are broken and dirty at his feet, God begins to make you whole. He makes you real. He sets you free and transforms you, and put you back together more beautifully than you could have imagined.

I have learned that something amazing happens when you make yourself available to God. If you are willing and looking for a chance to make a difference, it is always possible. People who want to make a difference in the world usually end up doing it. I am humbled and honored and blown away that God, who could do this by Himself, would choose to let me be a part of it. The fact is that God doesn’t need us to fulfill His plan. His plans will be done regardless of what we choose, but when we choose God’s plan, something amazing happens in us. We begin to live a life more fulfilled than anything we have experienced or could get for ourselves.

I have learned that I’m not going to change the world. Jesus will do that. But I can allow Him to use me to change my world and your world– the world of one person at a time. And I am convinced that if I do my part and you do your part, those small changes will add up. Eventually, we can change our cities, and nations, and yes, even the world.

I wanted to share a link to the first post I ever wrote. I was so nervous to share it, but it was the start of something so cool that I had never really planned, but that I know God was doing. Thank you all for reading and sharing and encouraging me throughout the year. It has meant more than you know, and I am so grateful to have you in my life. I can not wait to see what He has for this upcoming year. I know it is going to be exciting so stay tuned….. :]
